This Star Wars BD-1 style droid from Walt Disney Imagineering is super cute. I look forward to the day when we can get hold of these. Wouldn't they be great fun at a child's birthday party?
Whilst we can't provide Star Wars droids just yet, we can offer you a Temi personal robot, which includes many autonomous features such as location mapping and navigation, collision detection, personal assistants, automated sequences and task scheduling, facial detection, its own App store, and much more.
At Robotics for Good CIC we are always looking for new and innovative ways to use robots and smart technology. Feel free to contact us if you have an idea you would like to talk about.
The video above shows the Walt Disney Imagineering Bidedal robot prototype in the likeness of a BD-1 droid that combines "procedural animation, modular hardware, and reinforcement learning" with the ability to display realistic movement behaviours such as "strut, prance, sneak, tromp, shuffle, hustle, saunter or meander".
